The State of North Carolina is carefully monitoring the coronavirus pandemic as the crisis continues to develop and accelerate.

N.C. House Majority Leader John Bell has just been appointed to the House Select Committee on COVID-19, and the state legislator from Wayne County will also chair that committee’s State Operation’s Working Group which oversees emergency responses and public safety.

Rep. Bell appeared on Jeff Farrow’s Morning Show on Goldsboro’s Greatest Hits 1150 and 98.3 Wednesday.

He acknowledged the coronavirus pandemic is unlike any emergency anyone has ever been through before.

Bell says, thanks to responsible budgeting, there’s about $3.8 billion dollars in the state’s unemployment reserve fund.

Rep. Bell says he’s very proud of how the Wayne County community has rallied together to support one another.
